[shadow=red,left,300]||Since we DESPERATELY need an active RP on here...||[/shadow] Plot SynopsisThis was to be a week of celebration. You see, this was the time that a special comet passed over Jouto: the Sennen Comet. As the name implies, this astral body only appears every thousand years. Myths and legends surround the Sennen Comet, but alas, that wasn't the only reason why people were excited. A great Pokémon tournament was to take place. The best trainers from all around the world were called to this. Ecruteak, decorated with bright streamers and shouts of joy, held this along with other festivities. The prizes? A battle with the newest Champion of the Jhoto league and what was rumored to be a Key to great power. Some understood, others didn't. Allow me to explain. Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice, or lightning Lest these titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash. Many calamitous events were foreshadowed by these engravings. Before our heroes' time, adventurers had thought the legend surrounding the islands of Fire, Lightning, and Ice was a mere farce. However, the arrival of Satoshi (Ash) changed all of that. Unbeknownst to most, research has been conducted on this since the fateful events. Some believe this Key is connected to that legend. Though the water's great guardian shall arise to quell the fighting, alone its song will fail Thus the Earth will turn to ash. What power did the Keys hold? Unnatural phenomena have occurred recently in all of the regions; whether humans have paid attention to it or not. Plebeians have spoken of being transported to what they think is a different dimension. As soon as that happened, legendary Pokemon shifted from their natural habitats, and they've been seen circling Ecruteak. Some believe they may be guarding the Keys. So, you know the true reasoning behind that grand prize. Will you enter the tournament to get it for yourself? Will you obtain it and sell it to the highest bidder? Is curiosity obscuring your thoughts, and you wish to gain the Key for further analysis? Did you enter this tournament just for a chance against the Jhoto champion? Or are you a wild Pokemon (normal or legendary), just attempting to keep this sacred relic safe? SettingThe milieu of this RP will include, but is not limited to, Ecruteak City. If this goes according to my planning, we'll be region-hopping. (Don't fret. This'll only happen the further we get into the role play.) The first stop in this will be the Pokémon Center. This is where the sign-ups are taken. Nurse Joy takes care of those trainers. I play Nurse Joy. Tournament RulesThree Pokemon only, singles. You are allowed to dodge only three times. You and your opponent are allowed ten (10) posts each to battle it out between a pair of Pokemon. (Post as in: the turn you have.) In certain cases, if you look like you're losing and refuse to give up, I will have to intervene and call the next match in. How to JoinTrainers – Needed the most in this plot; You need to pick a number between one and eight AND tell me how the name would be entered in the tournament. Pokemon – You'd have to be participating in the tournament with a trainer Legendary – Only wilds are allowed here; PM me if you want to be one… We'll need them depending on how far we get in the role play. (Well...I think that everyone who wanted to join has applied, I think we should get started, eh? I'll be trying out something different with first person.)
Ah...Ecruteak City...the town of history and clashing of past and present...the memories of old intertwined with the new. The strangest thing was that history was once again going to be made, in more ways then one. The sounds and sights of festive feelings were up and about as more and more people, both travelers and locals, gather for the coming night. "センネン" or the "millennium comet" to foreign travelers. The passing comet was the main attraction for the night, as a sign of good luck and happiness for the coming years. The stories that surround this being have changed through the generations but forever has been a center of attention for all, despite major differences between the young and old. The comet's passing however, paled to what the true hype was about. A pokemon tournament, one of such magnitude that it attracted people from around the world to compete. Everyone from the newest recruits to the hardened veterans arrived for the sole sake of battling. Some for bragging rights, others for riches, fame, glory...who wouldn't want all that? But the greatest prize of all...was in possession of the newly Johto Champion. This..."key". Was it really one? What was it for? These questions and more ran through everyone's mind. Some of the elderly, and I mean the really old ones, tell stories of the worlds destruction because the balance of power had shifted. But really, would anyone truly believe that? "...and thus the great guardian descends from the sky to give halt to the fighting..." Two town elders, male and female, were telling a story to a small group, mostly children, that had gathered around them. It wasn't that I didn't believe them...it is just a myth...right? The storytellers were...how can I put this...ancient? No beyond that. It was like they could crumble to dust at any moment. But I digress...I haven't introduced myself. My name is Revan Perile, or that was the name I put into the tournament name to be called as. I don't trust others with my real name. It gives them power over others if they know real names. I'm a pokemon trainer...sort of. I'm not really anything that people would call becoming a "master" or "breeder" or "coordinator" . In truth, I don't know what I am. If someone was to ask me what I was, I usually shrugged my shoulder and walked away. I was simply that, I exist. I didn't stand out from the crowd, I looked like any other person out there. I wore a pair of dark brown shorts and a white t-shirt. I knew that later into the night the area gets mighty cold but strangely, I wasn't bothered by cold or heat. Over my t-shirt was a green sweater vest, I don't know why I wore it. Maybe it looks cool? Or probably because there were three pokeball lock slots that were already there and I didn't feel like carrying them all day in my pocket, hand, or on my belt. A light wind blew, pushing my hair away from my eyes. My lightish brown hair was long enough that it covered my eyes. I never bothered cutting it, probably because I wanted to hide my eyes. There was no color to them, no life. The best way to describe them...cloudy. I'm not blind, I can see perfectly fine but they seem to give the impression that I am blind. My three pokemon in this tournament? Not like I had a choice since I only had three to start with. For reason I want to keep to myself, two will remain in the dark. I can say...I don't personally like formal introductions. Don't worry, things will be made clear later...or maybe not. Depends on how things go. My first pokemon is a Glaceon, I never evolved it, I've had her as she was. I guess you could say I found her and took her into care. That's probably the most simple way to put it. No I won't tell you her name yet, you haven't earned the privilege to yet. I heard the center clock tower chime. Yet another hour has passed as I watched more and more people file in and out of the streets, rushing to get ready. I was sitting on a park bench, watching people as they passed. My Glaceon was curled up next to me, looking asleep but I knew she wasn't. I fingered with a small plastic disc in my hand. "六" was the character that was written on one side in ink. I was number six in the roster. Interesting,...that was my favorite number, not to mention some other things. But I've kept you waiting too long, I should let you go on and learn of other people besides me. After all, I'm just a mere person going through life. Oh and by the way...you really should pay attention to one person in particular, things get really interesting when this person appears.

Ecruteak City was bustling with people, jubilant voices heard from here and there. Visitors and citizens alike crowded the city, though one group of people in particular stood out as foreigners. The trio were all quite young, the eldest (a boy with green hair surprising sapphire irises) only nine. His two companions, by the looks of it, were seven. Despite this, the younger boy was nearly as tall as his companion (though notably lankier because of it). The trio stood outside of the Pokemon Center, the eldest flanked by his violet-haired sister on the left and his obsidian-haired friend on the right. Their expressions varied, though all seemed condescending. The green-haired boys egotistical look was the most notable and it was apparent that the other two didn’t dare think they were better than him. He was a good guardian, but if you doubted him, you may as well have kissed your sorry ass good bye.
“We better go in, then, huh?” The boy didn’t sound frightened, more bemused… Thoughts of losing seemed ludicrous to him and his two companions didn’t seem to doubt him either. The girl — his sister, in fact — grinned up at him, hands on her hips. She wore plain blue-jeans, a black tank top, and a gray hoodie. Once white sneakers were tied tightly to her feet and, judging by the way she glanced down at them every now and then, she would have preferred a different outfit. But mother had insisted that she wear something other than her usual clothes if she were to accompany her brother on his journey… What was she to do but oblige? Her mother’s word was law and she wasn’t about to be separated from her brother, not if she could help it. She had followed to observe his battling, to rub his skill into the face of those he defeated; she was itching to taunt anyone that crossed their path. “Yeah, Ryuu. Go, go, go!” In her haste, she dashed through the automatic doors, knowing Ryuu would follow regardless of any possible dangers. She was quick to save a spot for him at the desk, turning around with her foot tapping to stare expectantly at the door. Her brother soon stepped in, a spitting image of herself: pale skin and narrow features. His face, she thought, had a rather hawk-like appearance, with his eyes always narrowed in condescending scrutiny while the rest of his face remained rather emotionless. Behind him, Seiji was similar in general appearance: tall, lanky (though more so than his elder friend), and composed. His hair was style much the same, though it was jet black as opposed to emerald green like her brother’s. Seiji’s was tanner, too, not the ghostly white typical of the Akiyamas’; his irises were also more common, a golden color. Both boys were dressed in clothes similar to her: not the most lavish choices, but necessary to travel comfortably. Ryuu wore black jeans, a black long-sleeved shirt, and a gray vest. Seiji, however, was more casual and stuck to simple blue jeans and a plain, black t-shirt. Soon the two boys were beside her, Ryuu kissing the top of her long, violet locks affectionately. It was a rare sight to see, but Azami mattered above all else. Seiji was a friend, too, but there was no good comparison to the relationship of brother and sister. He remained tense, observing the nurse quietly while his sister asked, “Nurse Jooyyy? My brother’s gonna sign up to battle, ‘kay?” Her voice was innocent enough and Azami proceeded to bat her lavender eyes innocently, knowing that playing the good girl was more likely to get Ryuu what he wanted than playing her favored role.[/blockquote]
