•..••¨•..•¨••¨••• Medieval Times •..••¨•..•¨••¨•••
Plot
What was the world like, before skyscrapers, before modern technology, before Pokéballs? Every history book in their world says that humans have befriended Pokémon for thousands of years. However, evil has also spanned across eras, and the middle ages were no exception to this rule of life. That's right. I'm talking about life in the Medieval times.
Without Pokéballs, Pokémon needed to be domesticated using different terms. These magnificent creatures came to humans in their time of need. Most of the time, it was to protect their homes as well as aid the ones who walked on two long legs. Humans would need to place trust in their Pokémon, and it would need to be returned. There was never any reason to use them for violent means. You would only see Diglett cultivating the land, Ursaring hauling some food for an elderly person, and faithful Mightyena standing guard outside its ally's door at night.
No, there was no reason for any conflicts.
Not until huge kingdoms began to spring up. One, the kingdom of Tai (Tah-ee), evolved from a simple community. The people began to change their thoughts and ideas into a basis for a thriving civilization. Even the poorest in their kingdom wore cotton, a material vastly coveted for how warm and comfortable it was. People here only wanted the best, and that came with the Pokémon they began to train for non-necessary uses. They began to see the power which radiated from these monsters, power which they overlooked in the past.
People began using this power for their own deeds. The Pokémon, their trust placed completely in their 'friends', never questioned the humans. They never noticed how their help was slowly shifting into a form of direct obedience. Fierce obedience.
The next kingdom, the civilization with the name Ki (Kee), was a humble town. It had its lords and ladies, but the king had recently died. The castle was vacant, and the town wasn't doing much better. Poverty had stricken the land, the common people here were nothing more than peasants. Their Pokémon partners' bond with them still remained strong, and evolving ideals wouldn't break those bonds. Everyone had enough just to get by. Everyone was satisfied with what they had.
Why talk of two totally different kingdoms? A terrible event occurred which caused both to react. A plague, a plague like no other descended upon the lands just north of Kanto where these two kingdoms once coincided. A vast number of people perished, a few weaker Pokémon dying as well. Some could only explain the symptoms as blemishes on your skin which would bubble into blisters. The blisters would burst in a few days, leaving angry marks of newly-torched skin. The rest would be too gruesome to describe, but I can assure you it was a slow and painful death when your time came.
This plague brought the vastly contrasting people together to find a cure. And alas, they did find a remedy after some time. This remedy came in the form of a sacred land which stood between the two kingdoms. Unbeknownst to the outside people until this time, certain people – special people – lived behind the 'walls' surrounding the paradise.
They introduced themselves as the Hadou Guardians, perhaps known by others as the Wave-Guiders. These people and only one partner Pokémon worked together with each other in harmony. The power of the Aura was powerful and could only be harnessed by certain individuals. It took time and patience to master, and only one of the five truly finished his training. This man, you may know, was the one known as Sir Aaron. His best friend, Lucario, never strayed from his side. The Aura-wielding monster kept a constant guard over the borders of the paradise with his human.
Guardians and their apprentices made up the other four. The second-most-trained was a woman, this one having a Togekiss as a partner. She and her cloud-like partner harbored great potential. It was only controlling their massive amount of magical energy that was the current problem. Her apprentice, another female, worked with a Togetic. Paralleling them were two males – the older held more experience. These two used a Lucario and Riolu, respectively. Together, all aided the Pokémon and kept peace through their portion of the land.
The five individuals had the abilities to heal the plague thanks to their Hadou. With only a portion of their Aura, the people – theoretically their Pokémon as well – could free the sickened people from the chains of eminent death. (Not that they knew from the start, mind you.) Ki and Tai discovered the healing power of the individuals and their Pokémon; even the land that they lived upon kept them healthy and far away from the outside world. Both want these resources, but the motives for both are quite different.
Ki wishes to seek the Hadou-wielders' help in saving their people and others in need of healing. However, they will now turn to force to secure their chances of saving their friends and family.
Tai wishes to use the newfound miracle land and the Hadou Guardians to first heal only their own citizens. Those healed people would be used as soldiers to destroy the worthless Ki kingdom and all which stand in their way. (Cause the king's all greedy like that.)
The Aura-wielders are bewildered, as they knew nothing outside of their paradise for their whole lives. They knew nothing of the outside world. With an impending war on their hands, can the Guardians stop the power-hungry Tai kingdom? Can they calm the Ki people down enough to talk some sense into them?
Setting
Since this is asked for, we'll meet in the land between the two kingdoms. Part of this particular land is the Paradise, where the Hadou-users live. There is a barrier surrounding the lush greenery, but it is fading slowly and steadily. (I explain it a bit better in my intro ^^;; )
Joining Information
Do you wish to be of the Tai or Ki civilizations? We need one King (or Queen) from each one, if you guys are up to it.
If not, you could always go neutral.
The five Aura-weilders include the following:
-Sir Aaron and his Lucario (I may play him, but if you'd like the spot, ask. You'll see if I deem you worthy.)
-Lady Kiseki (my character) and her Togekiss
-The apprentice of the female, a younger female and her Togetic
-A teenager to young adult male and his Lucario
-The apprentice of the male, a younger male and his Riolu
**You cannot have any more Pokémon than your partner. Don't ask to change this Pokémon provided either.
**We need other Hadou-users, so you just need to ask me. =)
Wilds may also be played, but I don't know how important they'll be.
