AND WHEN YOU'RE FEELING EMPTY, KEEP MY IN YOUR MEMORY She had sat in the room with him the whole time, watching like a hawk as the nurse furtively worked on him. She was no expert in medicine, but she disagreed with some of the nurse's decisions — it was hard to trust a stranger with bubblegum pink hair, admittedly. Regardless, she had not spoken a word since entering the building — she had said little then too, out of breath from hauling him inside. It had been only two words, but no one had dared to disobey her command: "Save him." Lucky for the nurse, Kenji's condition seemed to be improving — the recovery was slow, but Azami was patient.
Hours passed with that mask attached to his face; it was hard to contain her anger while she waited. And then she spotted movement. It was small and minute, just a casual twitch of his hand — from there, his eyes slowly opened and her expression softened. She had not expected him to wake, nor to be able to speak for awhile — but he did and he was certainly no poet. Regardless, he was charming and she was soon crying and her eyes were rimmed with black, her make-up smeared from all the tears she had shed during the day. Honestly, she was not looking her best, but he had complimented her. She might have flirted if not for the immense relief she felt upon hearing him speak. “You're... not... going to... die....” Hushed amazement — the look on her face was the perfect picture of joy, with a smile and her eyes wet with unshed tears. Her hands clutched at her sides, as if trying to keep herself from falling apart, and her emotions were real, not masked as they usually were.
He spoke more before finally leaning back and resting his head on the pillow. Whiping her eyes, it was then that Azami stood, ignoring the pain that came with suddenly moving. Her movements were slow and careful, her decision still not having been made. A part of her wanted to hold him until he recovered, wanted to make him feel adored — she did not know him, but he certainly deserved such thanks. He had saved her, had held her when no one else would... 'He's a good friend.' A friend... Only Seiji and Rose had ever fit in those categories and it had been years since she had been on good terms with either. It was nice knowing that Ryuu was not the only one she could talk to about things... It was nice to know that there would be a shoulder to cry on if she needed it.
On the other hand, a part of her wanted distance to avoid hurting him further. Regardless, she leaned forward, her arms wrapping around him in an awkward hug while her head was tilted to one side, resting over his heart. Each beat was measured, differences noted, while her eyes closed in focus. “It's my fault you're like this... I'm pitiful when it comes to him.” She was quiet but honest, not sugar-coating things even when speaking of her own failures. “Thank you, though. You made me realize that I can't... sit there. I love him, but... I can't sit back and wait for him to revert to his old self. It's a lost cause.” She pulled away then, planting a single kiss on his forehead. “It doesn't matter now, though... Ryuu-kun killed him. So... Do you need anything? I owe you a lot, don't I?” And she smiled feebly, wondering just how much work he would try and get out of her. [/blockquote]

Kenji smiled at her as he heard her soft voice again; he liked it. The male listened inattentively to the girl. He didn't want to miss a word. He nodded as she began to speak about the man who had down this to him. It wasn't her fault at all; she shouldn't take the blame for it. "No, no it's my fault for going after him," he interrupted her. Kenji then felt a hug and a kiss on his forehead. His face turned read; he was blushing. He immediately tried to hide it by digging his face into his pillow. He looked ridiculous, trying to hide his feelings. "Heh-you don't owe me a think. I'm the one who owes you," he said as he tried to stand up. Kenji was pushed back onto his bed before his toe even touched the ground. The forceful pushed came from the Charizard that looked angry. It wanted revenge. "You need to rest," the lizard demanded. He didn't want his trainer to put anymore stress on his body. He couldn't stand him in pain, not as much as Azami though. The lizard was actually surprised somebody really cared about the redhead. It was kind of funny to him. "I'm going for a walk," the creature said he slowly began to walk away. "Wait! You're going to find Seiji! Not without me; now it's personal," said the male. He slowly tried to get up, but halted at the sound of Charizard's voice. "No. You had your chance and failed miserably. It's my turn now. I'm sure Miss Azami would like your company and she doesn't want to see you get hurt anymore. Stay here, idiot," said the overgrown lizard as he finally left the area and took to the sky in search of Seiji; he wouldn't find him. "Oh...," Kenji looked over and Azami and smiled like nothing had just happened. He looked around the room; there was an awkward silence. "Well, I'm gonna go get something to eat...want anything?" Kenji questioned her as he slowly stood up from his cot.

hopefully you enjoy reading this just as much as i enjoyed writing it. --- muse: sympathy by the goo goo dolls / stolen by dashboard confessional. --- words: 776
YOU ARE THE BEST ONE OF THE BEST ONES As spacey as she had become with Kenji’s hospitalization, she caught the slightest flush of color along the older boy’s cheeks. Azami found little reason for him to get so worked over a mere kiss, but she tended to give them away quite frequently. A kiss like this, anyways, was something she would give her parents — a “get well soon” kiss, in her mind, or a “good bye” kiss. But Kenji didn’t seem to think of it that way and Azami couldn’t help but wonder what such a thing might be like. As she imagined it, she closed her eyes and smile in bemusement. First, he would tilt her chin upward, making up for the substantial height difference between them. It would be then that should would realize that he was serious, that friendship was a ridiculous notion when chemistry such as theirs existed. Every nerve seemed fine-tuned, carefully detailing every touch and reacting automatically — Azami didn’t even think about what she did with him, it was simply action and reaction. And, though she realized this, she would stare into his eyes for a long while, mesmerized by the adoration of his gaze, too filled with awe to pull away and make a game out of this. And then, when she was just beginning to memorize the sharp jaw line and the high planes of his cheekbones, he would lean forward and her eyes would close. Their lips would finally meet and, while the world around them moved on, they would remain in perfect harmony, perfectly content together. When her eyes finally opened, Azami blinked in surprise before sighing longingly. She didn’t really care who she shared such a kiss with, but she hoped she could share something like that with possible. Such a thing was far more precious to her than her family’s wealth.
Regardless of such fantasies, it was crucial that she keep her mind in the present, for the patient that was to stay in bed was already up and about. Any tranquility she had acquired while waiting in the hospital room left abruptly and she was stomping over to him — her high-heeled boots clack-ing the whole way there — with evident anger for the way he had stood up so thoughtlessly. The man’s Charizard was gone and Azami felt rather hopeless at this development, for she doubted she would be able to control the rambunctious idiot without the help of his Fire-type. This only added to her anger and she was soon pacing about in front of him, appearing nothing less than furious. “Are you retarded? You were nearly strangled to death mere hours ago and you’re walking around already?! You… You idiot!” And without a second thought, she turned toward Kenji and slapped him hard, hoping to knock some sense into him…
Before, of course, remembering that slapping him in such a condition probably wasn’t the best idea. She stared at his face for a moment and then down to her hand, appearing quite dumbfounded and horrified. Could that kill him? It was unlikely but she was no expert in the medical field and she was soon hugging him tightly, hoping such force would grant her forgiveness — in all honesty, he would probably want to kill her for such a grip. “I forgot you were hurt, damn it! I’m so sorry, Kenji!” She pulled away with that, biting her lip uncertainly, before glancing around to see if his Charizard had since returned. No sight of the beast… Why had it even left in the first place? Why was she alone with Kenji? Between her little fantasy and this, it seemed like the gods were trying to play match maker — Azami wasn’t quite sure what to make of it but she mentally swore, wishing for someone to magically come along and lessen the inevitable awkwardness that would arise. Regardless of whether or not her wish came true, she loosely wrapped one arm around Kenji’s back, refusing to let him walk on his own — if he got hurt further, it would be her fault for ever having approached him. If only she could turn back time… “I’ll help you get your food; I’m not all that hungry.” It was a lie but the thought of eating in front of him freaked her out — it seemed far too formal, too much like a date, too much like something she would have done with Seiji. And, though she wanted to avoid all things awkward, her stomach gave one gurgling rumble of protest and continuing to lie about how hungry she was seemed stupid. ‘Fuck my life.’ [/blockquote]

muse: lazy sunday by the lonely island // somewhere out there by our lady peace MR. PIBB + RED VINES = CRAZY DELICIOUS Kenji was very happy right now. Joy filled him up and that would all soon come to an end. He slow took a step forward after Azami was done ranting about how is was an imbecile. He looked at her sighed. "Trust me, I'm-," he wouldn't be able to finish that sentence because a single hand would collide with his face and he would go into complete shock. The girl had slapped him. His face stung like a bitch. What the hell did she slap him? "Um-," he was, once again, cut off by Azami. She suddenly began apologizing to him and hugged him so tightly Kenji was having trouble breathing, but it was worth it to him. Kenji was suddenly wondering if maybe the female was PMSing. She was having crazy mood swings and Kenji was little bit freaked out. When she finally let go he began to walk toward the door. "No, I can go. You wanna' come with?" he asked her as he slowly began to step out the door. He looked back at her as he waited for her to follow him. "I need my Red Vines and Mr.Pibb; they're crazy delicious," he said with a smirk on his face. Kenji didn't really care if she were to follow him or not, but he knew she would come running after him anyway. The boy slowly walked out of the room; he felt fine and Azami was obviously exaggerating. In other news, Azami was officially Kenji's friend and he was happy about it; she had saved his life...kind of. The boy entered a different room now; it was the lobby of the Pokemon Center; there were plenty of people there. He was gazed upon with wide eyes, except the children. The mothers were covering their eyes up, but why ? "Um...Sir?" Nurse Joy began as she eyes down the boy with a blank look on her face. Kenji looked and spotted a crowd of females his age...they were giggling and smiling at him. Kenji finally looked down at himself; he was naked. Behind him, sat his hospital gown on the clod floor. It must have come undone and fallen off his body as he was walking out of the room. Did Azami see him? "Fuck my life"

YOU ARE THE BEST ONE OF THE BEST ONES Guilty about her temper, for it was simply that and nothing more, Azami followed the boy with little complaint. She was close behind him, biting her lips anxiously, ready to help him at the slightest sign of danger. Due to this small fact, Azami saw it all — saw the gown’s knot slowly pull apart and saw the gown slide past his shoulders, saw it roll down his body and saw tan skin exposed for her viewing pleasure. To say she was stunned speechless would have been a lie and she stared wide-eyed at his back. This was a hell of a lot more than she had ever seen before and Azami was unsure as to whether she should be disturbed or privileged or something else entirely. All she knew was that she was staring and staring was rude — but she couldn’t fucking stop!
There had never been a class on “what to do when you accidentally see some guy’s package” and Azami found herself at a loss for words because of it. Her lips moved, attempting to say something mildly intelligent, though what came out was anything but — “What they say about guys with big feet is true.” And after that, Azami turned beet red and slapped one hand over her eyes, figuring that he might want his privacy. it's the "get threatened by ryuu" show! --- muse: the twins game lawl. --- words: 463 :(
YOU ARE THE BEST ONE OF THE BEST ONES Leave it to Kenji to actually take her comment as a compliment. It might have been, could have been suave and seductive — if not for the fact that she didn’t want to think of her friend like that. It seemed absolutely unholy and she wanted nothing more than to forget the image and move on with a normal life. Until she could forget, the image was all but burned into her consciousness and Azami could only lower her hand, figuring the damage had been done and there was no way to change that. Luckily, Kenji was partially clothed when she opened her eyes once more, leaving a nicely sculpted chest and abs unclothes. Azami might have remained red if not for the sight of Nurse Joy, who seemed none to friendly.
Before she could react, the nurse had hit Kenji and he was on the floor — Azami found it hard not to start a rather gruesome brawl. She restrained herself from attacking physically, though was yelling and screaming, her fists clenched in fury. “What is your problem? It’s not Kenji’s fault if you don’t know how to dress a patient properly! And regardless of what happened, a nurse is supposed to help her patients, not knock them down!” This was, of course, quite the hypocritical exclamation, but Azami didn’t give a damn. One hand was already reaching for a dagger, wanting nothing more to give the nurse a taste of her own medicine. Some might have been surprised at her temper, but she had always been a firecracker, a great fallback when it came to her acting. Traveling with Ryuu years ago had not helped her anger problems and had only made her too violent for anyone’s good — luckily for the nurse, the spitfire’s older brother was right behind her and it seemed obvious that he wouldn’t tolerate for her anger to develop further.
A single karate chop at her neck caused the girl to go limp. “My apologies about her. She should be more pleasant when she wakes.” He supported her with one arm before saying, “Some privacy, please. This imbecile needs to get dressed without being attacked once more.” Murmurs arose, protesting, but the spectators didn’t dare argue with his expression. When everyone was out, Ryuu’s Mightyena arrived with Kenji’s clothes in its jaws, appearing a little anger that it was given such a job. It dropped them at the other man’s feet before settling back on it’s hind end, staring up at Kenji imperiously. “Get dressed, moron. I don’t want another mistake like that to happen around my sister.” He turned away from the boy then, giving him his privacy while making it clear that the conversation was not over. His Mightyena followed him, growling in warning. [/blockquote]

muse: one week by bare naked ladies // somewhere out there by our lady peace I HAVE A TENDENCY OF TAKING OFF MY SHIRT
This girl was also getting on her nerves; almost as much as the nude boy. She watched as the girl actually began to reach into her pocket. Was she going to try and kill her? That would be 'like' so awful. She began to try and block herself somehow. The only thing she could think of was putting her hands up, but there would be no need for that. A man hand saved her life.
It all happened so fast. Azami began to rant on at the nurse about how she had hit him, but he really didn't care that much. I guess the female deserved to be yelled at, but not stabbed. Kenji was the most surprised at the temper and anger of Azami; he didn't think she was like this. It wasn't like he was any different, but he took everything to be a joke. Just as the girl was about to go ape shit on the nurse she was karate chopped. Yes, karate chopped at her neck. It was very cliche. Kenji was about to take out the man that had actually hurt Azami he noticed one single word that he spoke. The word 'sister' seemed to stick out in the entire statement that Ryuu said. Azami had a bother? "Who is this guy?" Kenji said softly to himself as the boy stared directly into his eyes. It was actually very creepy. He began ordering everyone to vacate the area so he could get dressed. "Oh, thank you so much," the nurse said smiling at the man as she walked away from them to let the boy have his privacy; even though she was still very angry at him. Kenji was finally given his clothes and he slowly began to change out of the hospital gown. He dreaded the attire. His thoughts finally began to flutter when he heard the word 'sister'. This was Azami's older brother? Well, this would certainly be tons of fun. Kenji put on his checkered boxers and his orange pants first. He didn't like wearing a shirt really; it irritated him, but he would have to soon enough. He quickly slipped his head into the shirt and straightened it out before brushing the dirt off the front and back. "There, you may turn around," the boy said as he brushed some more dirt off that was obviously made by the Mightyena. He was actually unsure how the canine was able to carry all the clothes in it's jaws. It was insane. "Well, anything else?" the boy simply asked the my serious person.

lawl the "glaring daggers" part was just your you, bby :P & i threw some lawlsome stuff JUST for kenji, poor guy xD --- muse: supermassive black hole by muse / face down by the red jumpsuit apparatus. --- words: 461 :(
YOU CRY ALONE AND THEN HE SWEARS HE LOVES YOU Upon Kenji's approval, Ryuu turned around. To say he was not an intimidating man would have been a lie, considering the way he had made his sister unconscious without a second thought and was toting her around like a teddy bear. He was glaring daggers at the stranger, any politeness gone now that the crowd was gone and his sister was unconscious. Regardless of his clear distaste for the redhead, Ryuu did not make a move to attack him: he was an idiot but he was certainly no serial killer. Killing Kenji would only send Ryuu to hell, something he didn't want. Not to mention, he doubted Azami-chan would be too happy...
“You were there with her. There when Seiji attacked.” It might have simply been restating the obvious if not for the venomous tone, so accusing and bitter that Kenji might be tempted to walk out on him. “He could have killed her... As a man, you should have better looked after her, you moron. But instead, you bit off more than you could chew...” There was a minute twitch of his right (and vacant) hand and it seemed as though Ryuu wanted nothing more than to march on over to the imbecile and knock some damn sense into him. Idiocy was amusing to an extent — it usually made Ryuu want to stab small children. “She's alive and Seiji's dead, but you can't be such a damn idiot. Do you know how long she waited for you to wake?” It was then that Ryuu's brows furrowed and he turned around, looking out the window to the horizon. How could he properly describe Azami? It was hard considering she tried to hide many of her emotions and he was no mind reader... While pondering, he deftly swung his sister up and over his shoulder, not even thinking of the nice view he was giving Kenji of his sister's ass. (Had he known that a lacy, black thong was quite visible to Kenji due to his sister's short skirt, Ryuu might have sent the boy back to his hospital bed.)
After a minute or two of thought, he turned, looking into the other's eyes to convey how serious he was. “She doesn't let people go — she can't. Once you're her friend, you're stuck, although it may not seem like it. She'd never forgive herself if you died while she was there...” Ryuu gave a single sigh, hoping Kenji had understood what he was trying to say. And if he didn't feel like being a little more cautious, well... “If you hurt my sister in any way, shape, or form, I will send you to your god forsaken grave.”
There was nothing like death threats upon first meeting someone, was there? [/blockquote]

thanks, babycakes! I got lazy on this one so sorry. muse: greatest man that ever lived by weezer // somewhere out there by our lady peace STEP UP, I'LL MESS WITH YOUR FACE
Kenji paused when the man turned around and looked at him. He didn't look too hunky-dory. He actually looked pissed off. Kenji wasn't exactly liking where this conversation was about to go. He listened closely to what the male had to say. He seemed to rant on about Seiji and his sister and how he wasn't a man. Kenji was a bit offended when he said that he didn't act manly during the whole Seiji disaster. Kenji was trying to save her life, obviously.
The thought passed through Kenji when the male lifted up Azami of his shoulder. Kenji had no intentions of even listening to the rest of the man's conversation. His eyes were on Azami's ass. "Fact: Azami wears a thong," Kenji said in his mind continuously. Gotta' love those short skirts that the girls wear. His eyes never left the spot, but then Ryuu turned back around and began speaking again. Kenji quickly looked at Ryuu's eyes. He didn't want the man to know he was staring at his sister's ass. Then, the man threatened him. That was something Kenji wasn't expecting. He smirked at the thought of actually hurting Azami; was it possible? The redhead would never do such a thing; it was insane. Ryuu kept calling Kenji a moron. The male didn't take much offense to it because that was Charizard's nickname for him. So he was actually used to being called a moron. "Trust me, you don't have anything to worry about. By the way, death doesn't come easy for me,"" the male said as he smiled at Ryuu for a reassurance. Kenji wasn't a killer. After all, he wasn't the one who killed Seiji; Ryuu was. Seemed a bit hypocritical. "What's your name anyway?" he questioned the man. Now that he thought about it, the only thing he knew about this guy was that he was Azami's brother. He could be lying for all he knew. Kenji knew the man was ready to punch him square in the face, but risks are what makes life fun.

crap! --- muse: nuffing :( --- words: idk lawl
YOU CRY ALONE AND THEN HE SWEARS HE LOVES YOU Ryuu’s laugh in reply to Kenji’s proclamation was cold and condescending, a bemused and devious chuckle that was sure to frighten the other. Though they were the same age, Ryuu deemed himself the more intelligent being of the two and thus the more powerful. Kenji had quite the ego if he thought that death didn’t come easy for him. Perhaps it hadn’t, but Ryuu was not like the rest of the world; he was perfect, a god. He was Adonis in his beauty, Apollo in his intelligence, and Ares in his strength — nothing short of pure perfection. Outsmarting him was simply not possible and Kenji would learn that soon enough. For the time being, though, he said nothing — the cynical chortle was enough to convey the message.
Upon being asked his name, the seventeen-year-old’s amusement seemed to fade. His reply was dry, lacking his previous dark amusement: “Does a name matter? I could always lie and you would never know.” He simply rolled his eyes at that moment, quickly losing interest in the conversation now that he could no longer threaten the other. His sister would be up in due time and he figured he’d better stop the threats for the time being. In any case, they had also get moving with this whole “kill the villains” mission of theirs. Swinging his sister back over his shoulder and setting her on the ground, Ryuu added, “Ryuu Akiyama, vigilante.” That was all that needed to be said, for a simply look at his attire and the snarling Mightyena that stood beside him confirmed that. And if Kenji questioned his relation to Azami, one look at them both would have proved he was truthful: pale skinned, narrow and indigo eyed, tall and lean. [/blockquote]

In all honesty, Kenji was now very sad at the moment after the male put down Azami. His view of the female's rear was no gone. It didn't matter though, he'll probably be seeing it again. The seventeen year old didn't really think that the male was lying; he just thought he was a bit dark. He seemed a little too sad. "He needs to get laid," the male thought to himself as he eyed down the man. He nodded, concluding the statement. This man was a vigilante? That was something he didn't see everyday. He wasn't a batman, but he'd do I guess. Once more, Kenji scanned the male's body as if he were inspecting him for any flaws. Besides the whole 'getting laid' thing, he seemed natural. Kenji's attitude soon got a bit more serious than his normal attitude did. He sounded like he actually cared and he wasn't smiling. It was probably a relief for others around him to see the male with a straight face, but it was probably a little creepy as well. "So, are there anymore of these criminals lurking around?" the male asked with total seriousness. Kenji was here for that reason' taking care of these pesky criminals in this city. He had a theory that the criminals lurked in the city slums, but it was only a theory. "You're not going anywhere without me, moron," the voice was deep and arrogant. The voice belonged to, the one and only, Charizard. Yes, he had returned and wasn't very happy. The place was vacant, Azami was unconscious, and some man seemed to be angry with his trainer. "So, what the hell is going on?" the creature finally asked. He wasn't really sure if he really wanted to know, but he was going to find out sooner or later. Might as well be sooner. AND SOMETIMES I GET NERVOUS WHEN I SEE AN OPEN DOOR Silence reigned supreme and Ryuu found himself rather pleased with the outcome. ‘Stunned you speechless, have I?’ He did not voice his thoughts, but, rather, took the time to remember the face that was, more or less, a new ally. All in all, the other was bland in Ryuu’s mind — few were particularly special and Kenji was certainly no exception. It was a mystery to him why Azami had even bothered to talk to him, for his sister was far too vain and haughty to associate herself with someone who didn’t look at least mildly attractive. How peculiar… He was not allowed to dwell on the phenomena, however, for the arrival of a Charizard distracted him.
“There will always be criminals in our damned world.” His voice was quiet and, though his words were directed at Kenji, he focused on the Charizard. He had his own Charizard, a beast who was slightly thinner — built for agility as opposed to brute force — than Kenji’s. Not to mention, Kaji would have been far less friendly than this other Fire-Flying type, for he was too territorial for his own good. Along with this, his own Charizard either couldn’t or wouldn’t talk. Regardless of this enigma, he replied, “I‘ve just prevented the untimely death of one Nurse Joy — Azami should awaken soon enough, I’m sure. I’m her brother, Ryuu.” He paused, uncertain, feeling a little regardless for talking to a giant lizard… The small stir from his sister came as a great relief. Unfortunately, the first thing she said upon waking was this: “What the hell did you do that for, you git?” [/blockquote]

Charizard had a habit of showing up at the worst of times. However, this time it wasn't really all that bad. If this man, Ryuu, were to attack him Charizard might help him. There is a large chance the lizard will just watch the boy get hit, also. Hopefully, Charizard chose to help his trainer. Kenji looked over at the Charizard to make sure he was alright; he usually wasn't this kind around strangers.
"I see. Please, excuse my idiot of a trainer," the lizard said as he shot a glance at the red-head and then focused his attention back on Ryuu. He didn't look the least bit happy and he didn't exactly dress the part either. The lizard began to wonder what exactly this man's deal was. How dangerous was he? Was he dangerous at all? "We came to Saffron to help put a stop to these criminals and bring down this new mayor, but it seems we were sidetracked. We aren't here to socialize, but Kenji seems to thinks otherwise, " the Charizard said as he let out a snort before he began to speak again. The creature didn't even bother introducing himself. He hated people that were like him; personality wise. "And you're here arguing with a moron; it's a lost cause," said the creature as he began to move closer to the humans. He didn't even bother addressing Kenji. The trainer of his was too brainless to even understand the words coming out of his mouth. Yeah, Charizard was in a very bad mood. "You're pathetic," the lizard finally stated. Once Charizard was finished speaking, Kenji noticed the Azami begin to make some movements. The male's first reaction to was to help her get back on her feet. He crouched down and looked her over. He was very hesitant of where to grab her; he didn't want his hand in the wrong places. Not yet, anyway. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her up so she would be able to stand. He was about to ask if she was alright, but she started yelling at her brother. Kenji didn't have anything to say on that subject. Kenji had that smile on his face again, but it seemed...bigger. Yeah, he was happy she was alright, but a little too happy? "You alright?" Kenji finally asked as he stared into her eyes. He began to wonder why she would even try to kill someone---for him? That was a first. The only being that had ever risked its life for him was Charizard, but that was because the creature was in a good mood that day.

it's fine. (: softball tonight, blahz. --- muse: day and night by kid cudi. --- words: 529
THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS HAVE VIOLENT ENDINGS Ryuu, being Ryuu, found himself both surprised and amused at the Charizard’s words. Though the creature seemed to be substantially smarter than its trainer, the simple fact that it was so disrespectful of its master was a little disgruntling. Kaji was a spitfire and so was Daikirai, but neither dared disobey him — even chivalrous Katana and gentle Kai followed him, despite their warring opinions. If that Charizard was his… Well, it was a lucky beast to be owned by such a lax trainer. Ryuu could only smirk at the relationship, finding that the roles seemed to have been reversed, though he did not say a word about it. In fact, after his introduction, he did not speak again until his sister had stirred and a fiery reaction came before all else.
Mere moments after Kenji leaned forward and helped a delicately blushing, rage unforgotten, Azami up, Ryuu was reacting in the worst way possible. A common factor seemed to hold true for all Akiyama’s when it came to personalities: violence was always the answer. Peace seemed utterly ridiculous and knives or guns were typically the end of an argument. It had been this way since the great line had first came to be and it seemed unlikely to change, as sad as that was. Few wounds were severe and fights amongst family members were rare, but there was rarely a dull moment surrounding a family that believed so heavily in violence being the solution to all problems. It was simple and efficient, if nothing else, and thus had not died out and seemed unlikely to die out. Not all were graced with charisma and it was a hard skill to gain, but strength or speed… Simple and more useful in a modern world where few others tried to reason with their frustrations.
“Keep your hands off of her, you sneaky little bastard.” The dagger that typically rested on his left hip was now unsheathed, raised so it was roughly two feet away from Kenji’s unfortunately bare neck. Regardless of this threat, Azami seemed fearless and spat back, “He was only helping me, stupid!” It was typical for them to butt heads, each just as stubborn as the other and unwilling to give in. Azami’s relationships seemed to be the center of most dispute and Ryuu was more of an overprotective father than a confidant when it came to that. Aside from that, they seemed to get along quite well. Grunting, Ryuu sheathed his weapon and replied, “Keep your hands above her waist but below her chest. And wipe that giddy smile off your damned face.” His Mightyena’s growls put emphasis on his words and he then left the room, heading outside, not bothering to wait for the two (or three, if the Charizard was counted); his Mightyena followed at his heels. Upon her brother’s departure, Azami could only grin at her triumph, feeling quite powerful that she had one this battle. (It would have been hell if she had lost, that was guaranteed.) “I’m fine. Ignore him, will you?” She paused, glancing in Charizard’s direction, before adding, “Nice to see you again, Charizard. You missed quite the fiasco.” [/blockquote]

Kenji watched as Ryuu simply yelled at him for no reason at all and then left the building. He seemed to have problems. Yeah, the male could have had his hands a little higher, but he was sure Azami didn't mind. He wasn't groping her ass or anything. About his smile, he was pretty much born with it on his face and he looooved showing off his pearly whites.
"Heh, that's an interesting brother you have," Kenji said as he fixed his eyes on Azami. They seemed to act like the normal brother and sister; always arguing, but had lots of love for each other. Kenji just didn't like the fact he was threatened with a dagger; that was kind of over-the-top. When he was done speaking to her, he looked over at Charizard. The over-sized son of a lizard was eating red vines. "What the hell Charizard?" the boy yelled at the creature as he saw him eating his favorite snack. He eyed the licorice and was tempted to try and snatch the red vines away from the creature, but it would surely fail. "You'll share if you know what's good for you," the boy actually threatened Charizard. That was something somebody should never do unless they had some sort of death wish. The Charizard shot a glare at his trainer and then glanced at the red vines. He then looked back up at Kenji and started laughing. It was actually more of a chuckle. He found it funny that the boy actually had the nerve to threaten him. "I'm going to act like I never heard that," the lizard said as he took another bite out piece of the candy. He was eating it right in front of the boy's face; poor kid. "I'm going to act like I never said that," the male replied as he looked down at the ground and listened to his stomach growl; he was starving...and his own Pokemon was eating right in front of him. "So, what exactly happened while I was away...on my walk," said the lizard as he eyed the female who stood beside Kenji.

shitty post. the end just doesn't flow and seems random, but i guess it's the snowball effect with azami. one thought gets a bunch of other (oftentimes completely irrelevant) thoughts going... kinda like me =P --- muse: beating heart baby by head automatica / just the girl by the click five. --- words: 653
THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS HAVE VIOLENT ENDINGS Interesting… ‘Well, that’s one way to put it.’ Any who met Ryuu were rarely as kind is that; adjectives used to describe her older brother were typically harsh and spiteful, not as neutral as Kenji’s means of describing him. For his neutrality, Azami was thankful — she wanted nothing more than for all of her loved ones to get along with each other, a truly pathetic but entirely honest fact. It was certainly a lost cause when it came to Ryuu-kun liking anyone, but perhaps they didn’t have the hate each other… She was not left to her own ponderings, however, for others were vying for her attention and she was not in the spirits to ignore them for the time being.
Though she enjoyed the company of both Kenji and his Charizard — they had, after all, prevented her from doing anything exceptionally stupid with Seiji — she was sharp when looking at them both. It was an odd position to be in, on the outside of a fight between a massive dragon and a good friend. (Although she enjoyed the company of both, for both were quite amusing, she deemed Kenji the closer friend. He had been the one to confront Seiji in the first place and had been the one to help her. Had Charizard and Kenji been hurt badly, she was sure it would have been the latter’s bed that she lingered by like a worried pup.) It was certainly difficult to choose a side of the battle to take, but Azami had always picked fights against those who appeared much stronger than her — challenge was thrilling, was it not? She opened her mouth to speak, but simply sighed with resignation. “Can I have some, at least? Ladies should eat first, wouldn’t you agree?” Her smirk was devious and anyone who believed her to be innocent was a damned fool. It was unlikely that the Charizard would share, but who could resist a face like that? The face that launched a thousand ships…Regardless of her success, she continued on, the smirk fading. “Well… Hm, after you left? Let’s see… Well, this idiot obviously got up, though he shouldn’t have. And then we were going to get food, but, um… Well, Nurse Joy had a hissy-fit when Kenji was, uh… Naked because he lost his gown.” It was then that she turn her back, trying to appear thoughtful, hoping that they had not noticed her charisma wane and the redness that tainted her cheeks. (Though, with one as pristinely pale as her, it wouldn’t have been a surprise if they had.) Clearing her throat, she continued on more seriously, trying to push the images from her mind. “Following that, Ryuu-kun came and stopped anything too horrible from happening. That asshole knocked me out, though… I don‘t remember anything else but you arriving and my brother spazzing. I don’t see why — Kenji and I are clearly not a couple.” She laughed then, bemused at the idea. Kenji was attractive, but… But there was a single nagging voice in her head that repeated like a broken record, making her want nothing more than to be alone in her misery, and that screeched like a Siren’s song, urging her to delve back into those painful memories to her untimely doom. It said: ‘Seiji is dead. You killed him.’ And though it did not show, the guilt existed like a bullet lodged in her heart, preventing efficiency and functionality. She was no robot, she was not perfection — she was pathetically human, with emotions that held her down and a body that was all too reactive to such weaknesses. ‘I am useless.’ And, while turning back to face both Kenji and his Charizard, she could imagine him saying, “I could make you so much more — so much stronger, so much faster, so much prettier… Take your pick: utopia or dystopia?” [/blockquote]

sorry about the shortness. muse: centerfold by j. geils band // somewhere out there by our lady peace DOWN HERE IN THE ATMOSPHERE, GARBAGE AND CITY LIGHTS
Charizard was arrogant, selfish, and very haughty, but he wasn't an imbecile. Just because she was a female and could put on a puppy dog face didn't mean she could get what she wanted. Charizard would never give into such a thing. Just watching it made him chuckle a bit. "I'm not fool," the creature said as he continued to eat the red vines, which Kenji couldn't keep his eyes off of. Charizard just loved to torture his trainer it was one of the few things that amused him. The lizard glared at the female and waited for her to finally explain what had went down while he was away; he listened carefully. The visions ran through his mind and it just seemed to aggravate him even more. If he leaves for only a second, shit goes wrong. It seemed Kenji depended on him for just about everything except picking up women. What kind of idiot runs naked in a Pokemon Center lobby? Charizard was disgusted. Once the girl was finished speaking, Charizard shot a glare at the boy. "What the hell is wrong with you?" he began to yell at him. The Charizard had quite a short temper and when he got mad; things turned disastrous. The rage began to build up inside him; he was having trouble controlling it. Charizard began to walk slowly toward the male. When he got to him, he just snorted and tossed the empty jar of red vines in front of his face. "Fuck my life," the creature softly said to himself as he walked away from the two. He needed to get some air and calm down. Kenji was a bit perplexed at the whole situation. The main thing on his mind was Azami blushing when she mentioned his....incident and the last thing Azami had said about being a couple. Of course, it was a foolish idea. Kenji turned a little red at the though of them being together. It was a bit...odd. "Yes, of course. That's funny...us a couple," the male said jokingly as he scratched the top of his head, messing up his red hair.

THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS HAVE VIOLENT ENDINGS Bickering began once more and the Charizard was as stubborn as a damned mule. Needless to say, Azami was quickly finding herself annoyed at the beast, her arms crossing over her chest as she stared at the departing beast. It struck her as rather immature that he'd run off so quickly, though it was hypocritical of her to have such a mentality. There was a difference between them, though: she did not run but stabbed, resorting to violence like any poor problem solvers. In her defense, she had been taught these rather poor methods of dealing with her problems, something made evident by her brother's cold outlook on the world: it was damned and he would kill any that were marked for the fiery pits of hell, for only the holiest of subjects deserved to live in the world he wanted to make. He was a radical, quite obviously, and Azami didn't seem too much different.
Without any further distractions, the girl could focus on the matter at hand: they had to take down some baddies. It seemed like too much for the day, like the Sand Man should arrive and grant her refreshing sleep. Perhaps this was all a dream... 'No, I'm being ridiculous.' And she was, staring out at the window thoughtlessly, appearing like dearest Rapunzel, locked in a tower all on her own. There was Kenji, of course, but he was a stranger — a kind, thoughtful stranger, but a stranger nonetheless. If Ryuu didn't know the depth of the vast sea of emotions she felt daily, then why would Kenji? Sighing, she began to exit the building, appearing none too happy as she reflected upon the day's shortcomings. “Let's go, Kenji. We need to save Saffron. Not to mention, Ryuu-kun probably thinks we're messing around...” The images from earlier in the day made a brief appearance, but were pushed away quickly. [/blockquote]

plot twist! i'm brining in another one of characters. he is pretty much never used, but he rawks. muse: ho's by pepper // somewhere out there by our lady peace I'LL BE PART OF HISTORY, WITH 15 BOOKS ON MY STORY
Kenji's eyes narrowed in on the girl as she started to walk away. He quickly followed her out as he was told and began to walk beside her. It was true, they needed to get a move on. The criminals could have done a lot during the time they were distracted by such things as a naked Kenji, a furious and evil ex-boyfriend of Azami's, Red Vines, and Ryuu's arrival. So much can happy in such a little time. Kenji looked back to see if the lizard was going to follow him. With the one glance he caught sight of the creature slowly beginning to move toward them; it was slow. The boy simply turned away from him, still a bit angry, and continued walking. "Where do you suggest we start our search?" the male finally asked her as the bright, yellow sun suddenly drew upon them. The seventeen year old's eyes narrowed as he squinted to block the sun. Putting a hand on his forehead to try and block out the sun, he was able to get a clear view on the girl as he waited for his reply. Charizard was still in the shade. He walked slowly out of the building and seemed to be in deep thought; aside from the rest of world. He was remembering back from when they entered the nearly empty town hall. There was nobody there besides them. The whole thing was all about bringing a group of trainers together to defeat the criminals, but there were only two trainers; plus Ryuu. That seemed a bit odd. There had to be more souls out there that cared about the world and the evil that dwells within it, right? It all just seemed a bit sketchy to him. The thought slowly faded away when he spotted another body coming his way. Actually...it was two bodies. One was a male human and the other looked like....a Marowak. The face slowly came into vision of the creature, but it halted at the pair in front of him. "Excuse me, but...I was supposed to meet some people at the town hall, but it seems the building has been burned down Pity. You see, I'm Jared Gentry. I'm here to help stop the new mayor and his gang of villains," the man said as he extended a hand to them; Azami first. He seemed to...talk a lot, but maybe it was just him being nervous. Jared was actually a cook; a good one at that. Cooking was passion of the nineteen year old; he lived for it. The man had slightly tanned skin and neck-length black hair; it was a mess. He wore, simply, a pair of plaid, khaki shorts with a blue t-shirt and a pair of brown sandals on his feet. He was dressed like he was at the beach; which he clearly wasn't. On his back was a bulky backpack that contained some portable cooking supplies. The Marowak beside him stared at the red-head in awe. The creature had never seen a human with...red hair before. The creature started to believe the male was...retarded? Seems the creature is a good judge of character.

i had muse but i lost it. blah. --- muse: romeo and juliet. --- words: 473
THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS HAVE VIOLENT ENDINGS Little of her fleeting attention was given to her companions, but to the inner workings of her mind. The Grim Reaper had come and had left, leaving such a damsel devastated — it was not the perfection that she desired. It was tragically impossible to acquire such things, but manic perfection was all she strived for. Such events were not harmless to her plans, but the dagger driven into a devastated Juliet’s heart; all dreams, all fantasies, all hopes… came crashing down, dissipating into dust, and blowing away in the gusts of the aftermath. Like a ghost town, only a memory of former glory remained, the promise of such glory returning ridiculous. It was not a memory one could forget so easily, not something one could shrug off without a second thought… Though she would distract herself for the time being as best as she could, forcing herself to pay at least minor attention to her surroundings — she found herself staring at a handsome face, tanned from a long days traveling, with dark eyes and a smile of politeness. She had vaguely listened to him speak, but it had certainly not been on the forefront of her mind. Luckily, her cynical brother was already putting an arm between her and the man, sure to erase any foolish ideas the man had when accentuated by the growls of his Mightyena.
“I would kindly advise you to step away from my sister.” The words were like that of a serpent, hissed through angrily clenched teeth. An imaginative child might have imagined the green-haired man flicking out a forked tongue, though Azami was not so naïve. Instead, she merely pushed the arm away and, with a small (fake) smile, bothered to add, “Please excuse him, he tends to overreact. I am Azami Akiyama, this is my brother Ryuu.” The pain faded with the distraction, though it remained like a bruise, unwilling to fade quite yet. She gestured to Ryuu before continuing on with a curtsy that might have made her seem like a Renaissance princess if not for her attire. “To my left is Kenji, a dear friend. Beware, his Charizard can speak our language — don’t be alarmed.” It was then that she straightened, feigning amusement with a bemused smile; Ryuu, she knew, could see through her guise but he was kind enough to not comment. Instead, he added, “If you hurt my sister, I will rip you limb from limb and leave you for the starving scavengers of the world to feast upon.” And his face was void of any emotion, as serious as a heart attack — the others would surely be wondering about him, but he cared not. ‘If painting such wonderous pictures for them saves her, then I will gladly make an enemy with every person on this damned planet.’ [/blockquote]
